Volkswagon 2010 Jetta TDI Cup Series
What is it?
The Jetta TDI Cup series was set up as a Pro Racing series within the SCCA Club starting in 2008. There are may other “Spec” series within SCCA but this one was set up with a specific purpose in mind, to introduce Clean Diesel Technology to the US market and to showcase young, new talent in the motorsports arena. Many drivers come from other spec series like the Miata Spec Series, or the Karting world. Drivers race in identical Jetta TDI’s prepped by the factory. The series pays upwards of $50,000 in prize money and the series winner receives Volkswagen factory career advancement support valued at up to $100,000. The series carries a $45,000 entry fee.

The car is only slightly modified from stock with Pirelli racing tires, race suspension and brake components, drivers racing safety seat, FIA roll cage and an on-board fire extinguisher system.
